Podiatry
Mr Joseph Frenkel B.Pod M.A.Pod.A
provides foot and ankle assessments and podiatric care each Monday and Tuesday including evenings:

On face value, being a Podiatrist wouldn't seem like a classy job. At its most basic level, my job is to look at feet. That fact alone would have many people turning up their noses - possibly from the smell. But apart from the obvious generalisations people have, your feet are actually very important.
Feet are masterful pieces of engineering comprising a quarter of all the bones in the human skeleton and responsible for walking around the average person 250,000 kilometres in their lifetime. Add to that the strains we place on them when walking, running, jumping and dancing, it's quite incredible that they function the way they do.
But in spite of all this we tend neglect our feet. Perhaps it's a case of out of sight out of mind. Maybe feet don't get the recognition they deserve. However the good news is most foot problems can be treated and managed. Here are some of the more common foot services I provide:
1 Skin and Nail Problems
2 Musculoskeletal injuries
3 Diabetes Foot Assessment
4 Biomechanical Assessment
5 Footwear Assessment
6 Orthotics
So if your feet don't feel 100%, remember how important they are and how long they have to last you, because unfortunately when it comes to feet, you've got the one pair for a very long time.
Joseph graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Podiatry in 2004. His study included extensive training in various metropolitan hospitals, with Joseph spending his major clinical rotation at The Alfred hospital. Being a member of the Australian Podiatry Association, Joseph also is enrolled in the Accredited Podiatrists Program, which ensures that his training and continuing education is up to date.
Joseph has interests in diabetes assessment and education, wound management, sports medicine, orthotic therapy and surgery.

Audiology
Michelle Esparon

If eyes are the windows to the soul, then ears are the doors to the mind. The ear captures sound and helps you recall that sound throughout your life.
The ear helps the body respond emotionally, according to the sound heard, like emotions of love on hearing the sound of a loved one, emotions of fear on hearing a threat! From the sweet chirping of the birds to the irritating sounds of crickets, the loud bang of crackers and the beautiful symphony of an orchestra, all these different sounds and many other sounds are possible to hear due to our ears.
Did you know that hearing loss is one of the most common conditions affecting older adults? When left untreated it can significantly impact your quality of life. This is where an Audiologist can help. Michelle Esparon From AddHEARING has a Masters degree in Clinical Audiology and is trained to diagnose and treat individuals with hearing impairments.
AddHEARING aims to bring good hearing back into the lives of people with hearing loss so that they are better able to function more efficiently in their daily life activities.
Services provided:
- Full Hearing assessments (for adults and children over the age of 4)
- Fitting of Hearing Aids and other Communication devices
- Educating clients on the use of hearing aids
- Rehabilitation to help adjust to hearing amplified sounds through the hearing aid.
- Hearing preservation – fitting of earmoulds to protect the ears from loud noise, music and water

If you feel you are experiencing difficulty hearing, speak to Michelle or your Doctor.

Chiropractor
Dr Frank Whelan

WELLINGTON FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC
Chiropractic is a health care discipline based on the scientific premise that the body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism. These important functions are controlled by the brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of the body. A common interference to the nervous system is the twenty-four moving bones of the spinal column.
A loss of normal motion or function of these bones and surrounding tissues and nerves can irritate or impair the function of the nervous system causing pain and restricted movement.
This can present as low back pain and headaches, but can also cause related symptoms in arms and legs. Chiropractors aim to improve nervous system function primarily through chiropractic adjustments (with particular attention to the spine, skull and pelvis), to help remove any interference that may be impairing normal health and to restore your own inborn ability to be healthy.

A variety of adjusting techniques are used making it suitable for all ages. You are never too old or young and it's never too late to start. When under the proper control of your nervous system, all the cells, tissue, and organs of your body are designed to function well and resist disease and ill health. The chiropractic approach to better health is to locate and help reduce interferences to your natural state of being healthy. Causes of interference can be from physical, chemical and/or emotional causes. Chiropractic is also about identifying the causes of the interference and so also places an emphasis on nutrition and exercise, wellness and healthy lifestyle modifications.

What will Dr. Frank do?

Helping to restore proper spinal biomechanics and improved nervous system function begins with a patient's case history. This provides a background about your health, such as surgeries, accidents, the onset of your condition, and other details affecting your current health. After reviewing your history and discussing your specific problem, a thorough orthopaedic, neurological, and chiropractic examination is performed. X-rays may be taken to uncover structural and functioning problems associated with the spinal column. These examinations help identify areas of spinal malfunction and resulting nervous system deficit. The findings of these examinations are explained and a plan of chiropractic adjustments may be recommended. Progress is monitored with periodical examinations and follow-up reports.
