Dr Timothy Tai

General Practitioner

MBBS, FRACGP

Tim was born in Taiwan and immigrated to Brisbane with his family at the age of 8.

Despite studying in a foreign language, he was awarded a scholarship to Brisbane Boys Grammar School in 1996. He proceeded to win school and national awards in English, Japanese, French, mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography and art. He developed a love for being a ” Jack of all trades and master of a few”, which eventually lead to his choice of general practice.

Tim achieved the highest score of 99.95 and chose to study medicine at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2007.

He undertook general training at the Eastern Health hospitals, and even infiltrated the Royal Australian College of Physicians for 1 year to learn from their programs. He was conferred his fellowship to the Royal Australian College of GPs in 2013, and continues to enjoy the challenging diversity and ongoing relationships in general practice.

Outside of work, Tim enjoys tennis, travel, chess and card games; and has won state titles in the latter two. He is married with 3 young children.

Appointments are available Tuesdays and Fridays.

He also consults in Mandarin where it is of assistance.
